Whatever it is you’re after, don’t spend another minute wondering what to do in the Bahamas, we’ve got you covered. How about something completely out of the ordinary from any other Caribbean vacation? Who doesn’t want to come home with some epic travel stories, right? Here are a handful of activities to get those wheels turning.
Bonfire Performance on the Beach
When vacationers are putting together their list of what to do in the Bahamas, it generally includes things like snorkeling, sun tanning, maybe a booze cruise (or two!), but remember, the Bahamas is a culturally rich region of the Caribbean. The Bahamians have a deep sense of family, and no one else knows how to party like they do. After one of your sun-filled days, come down to the beach for a truly unique, cultural experience. Dig your toes into the cool sand, marvel at the infinite stars dotting the night sky, and get ready for a fiery bonfire on the beach dance. You’ll be mesmerized, and don’t think for one moment you can just be a spectator, Bahamian culture is all about dance, music and laughter. Join in the fun, and work up a hefty appetite. An All-You-Can-Eat Caribbean buffet awaits with delicious chicken and ribs, peas n’ rice, corn on the cob, cole slaw and more. Complimentary drinks will keep the party going all night long, and give you just enough liquid courage to test your limbo skills!
Jet Set to the Exumas Cays
Ever wanted to feel like the host of an adventure travel channel for the day? The Discovery Channel and E! Television Network have both featured the Exumas, celebrating one of the most unique biospheres in the world. If you want to escape the fury of Nassau for a day, heading out to the Exumas Cays is one of the coolest things you can do! Hop aboard a jet-boat and zip through azure seas at 40 mph. The journey to the Exumas is as exhilarating as exploring the Cays themselves. Keep your eyes out for pods of curious bottle-nose dolphins, meandering sea turtles, trolling sharks and countless other colorful marine life. Stop in at Allen Cay to pay homage to the endangered Allen's Cay Rock Iguana. Next, you’ll spend the majority of your day on ultra secluded Ship Channel Cays. From here, you can do some exploring, snorkeling and enjoy a sumptuous lunch. The waters offshore are teeming with lemon, nurse and reef sharks. Don’t forget your camera!
