Golf in Costa Rica
By: Fabio Solano, Thu Jun 10th, 2010
Costa Rica is a world class destination and luckily golf in Costa Rica has matured into one
of the main reasons people should go there.
Golf used to be limited to private courses here but now there are incredible resort courses
and public courses near the main tourist attractions like the beaches and also in the main
city, San Jose.
My recommendations:
For the no limit budget traveler, I would suggest playing Four Seasons and Reserva
Conchal in the Guanacaste area.
For the not so high roller, I would suggest Marriott Los Suenos in the Jaco area or Hacienda
Pinilla in the Tamarindo area.
For the budget conscious golfer, Valle del Sol and Cariari are great options. Both are in the
San Jose area.
You can expect to pay from $190 to $34 to play at these courses (including cart) and they are
open your round. During the rainy season be sure to play the earliest possible in order to
avoid the mandatory afternoon rainstorm.
Want to find more information: There are several tour operators like Costa Rica golf
Adventures, but online you can find www.teetimescostarica.com that offers no cost online
tee times directly with the course and www.anagolf.com which is the golf association with
lots of information about tournaments and other happenings.
Visit Costa Rica and enjoy the perfect golf weather in the San Jose area and the lush
rainforest scenery in the Guanacaste and Jaco areas. Enjoy!
