Donald J. Trump, NBC Universal and Paula M. Shugart, President, Miss Universe Organization, announced today that the 58th Annual Miss Universe® Competition will air live from Paradise Island, The Bahamas. The glamorous live event, featuring some of the world’s most beautiful women, will take place at Atlantis, Paradise Island resort and air live on NBC and Telemundo on Sunday, August 30th, this summer.

Junkanoo is a bi-annual street festival akin to Mardi Gras or the Brazilian Carnivale'. Junkanoo is an extremely important event in the Bahamas and has been a cultural staple for decades. The parade dates back before the Bahamian Independence and celebrates it's emancipation from colonial rule. The days the of the Junkanoo Festival are Dec 26 & January 1st of each year.
